Summary

A broad communication plan is essential to the successful dissemination and adoption of the rapidly developing science of truffle growing. The communication plan is to ensure maximum penetration of industry knowledge, and new information as it comes to hand. The communication plan will enable the industry to more effectively meld the diverse membership through providing members and non-members with better and more timely R&D information and news. The ongoing growth and success of this industry, and maintenance of its reputation domestically and internationally, hinges on how we effectively consolidate the knowledge base of growers; especially because so many of them have limited horticultural or agricultural training and experience. Development of clearly defined and understandable truffiere management practices will encourage truffle farmers to take an informed approach to their businesses.

Objective Summary

To promote and make more accessible industry best practice determined through R&D to ATGA Members.
To enhance and protect the reputation of the industry domestically and internationally using R&D advances.
To communicate the latest R&D more effectively with non-members. (This is partly in recognition that non-Members who do not, or are unlikely to achieve industry best practice are a significant biosecurity and market risk).
